Held annually by the National Council for the Child and in cooperation with Ben Gurion University of the Negev and the Haruv Institute, the Negev Conference For Children (NCFC) is a unique policy conference. The conference focuses on child welfare in terms of comprehensive policies, planning, and implementation, and engages in various topics related to the rights of children and youth in the Israeli society.
The NCFC has taken place every year since 2003 in Beer Sheba, with the participation of hundreds of senior figures in the government, public, and private sectors, including policy makers, representatives of various government offices, police officers, the judiciary, professionals and academics, civil society organizations, and more.
The conference is intended to foster dialogue between all participants and promote beneficial policies for the realization of the rights and welfare of all children in Israel.
In line with the NCC’s commitment to the principals of cooperation, listening, and learning from children on matters related to their lives, youth from Beer Sheba and Rahat take an active role in the conference. They prepare for the professional sessions, present their stance on the issues, and fully participate in a variety of discussions.
